Prefabricated Framed Construction

Prefabricated framed construction is an increasingly popular style of construction for new homes.

It has significant advantages over traditional construction.

Some of which include higher quality end products, fast construction times reduced overheads and less delays.

The prefabrication process must be carried out carefully more so than traditional construction.

Component parts need to be accurately designed during the initial design stages to ensure the building fits together when it’s brought to site.

Many components are standard sizes and can be bought from a range of different wholesalers.

The custom features of a prefabricated build include the elements which make up the super structure the floor walls roof and also the architectural features such as stairs and balconies.

Prefabricated buildings have been around for quite some time. British settlers to America took prefabricated timber homes with them in the 1620’s.

The early renditions consisted of timber frame building whereby the 1840’s we were seeing prefabricated cast iron components being sent to provide shelter in Africa and the Caribbean.

Prefabricated homes are now becoming a more mainstream form of house production. Germany now export thousands per year and have became one of the leading exporters.

Fully complete modules including wiring and plumbing, fixtures and fittings, and decoration are built in factories under controlled conditions then transported to site and positioned by crane on a pre prepared foundation.

Highly trained teams of workers assemble the buildings some of which can be constructed in less than one week from start to finish.

Modular building is one of the means of helping to achieve efficiency, reduce wastage of materials and deliver improved quality of the finished product.

It is fastly becoming a construction process of choice for commercial and large scale residential projects.

The processes involved can reduce costs and improve the quality of the finished product.

Fewer mistakes are made and the projects generally run far smoother on site.
